Testimonials

"Thank you for helping me to become stronger.  I found it hard at times to do the work with you but I learned  to never give up.  I am so much happier, confident, and more capable than I ever felt I could be.  I can do things now (ride a bike, play basketball,  tie my shoelaces, make friends, gain two karate belts and have heaps of energy) that I couldn't do just 8-10 weeks ago."

"You have really helped me to become a better me! Please don't forget me!!  Ben"

"Mark, what you've done for our boy isn't measureable in words, so I'll just say "thanks" and hope you know how deeply from the heart it comes. Stay well.  You are amazing.

Sincerely, S&B

     Dear Dr. Goldenberg, before coming to the Pathways to Learning Center (PTLC)our son's social skills were indadequate, he was a loner, uninterested in sports due to a lack of coordination skills and struggling in school.  We believe he went through a silent struggle trying to fit in.

    Even though he has a high IQ, his comprehension and writing assessments were in the low range. At home he chose to isolate himself, never joining in family gatherings because he was overwhelmed by the crowds.  Personal contact with him was non existent.

    Since coming to the PTLC his transition is unbelievable.  The principal and teachers at school have noticed an increase of attentiveness and participation.  He is able to make direct eye contact and converse with adults instead of shying away.  His comprehension levels have increased immensely.  He is not resistant to assigned reading books that don't interest him and the volume of books that he is interested in has tripled in comparaison to 4 months ago.  He participates in band and the drama club.

     Eventhough my family knew he was beyond his years in knowledge, they are extremely impressed with his interacting and communication skills.  His coordination skills have given him a renewed confidenceThis past weekend he signed up for the lacrosse team.

     We are extremely thankful for the support and techniques you were able to show our son to retrain his brain.  With continued exercise using what you have taught him he will have the confidence to live a fulfilling life.

      Many thanks, TM

  • Alex is a 10 year old boy diagnosed with ADHD.

After 30 sessions of Hemispheric Integration Therapy his mother writes:

Dr. G., I just wanted to let you know that Alex’s teacher reported last week that she has seen a huge difference in his class work in recent weeks, and that he is producing more than ever. Also, his special ed writing teacher reported marked improvement and the school psychologist said the are doing great work in their weekly sessions.

We also see improvement in his social relationships, he’s back in the groove with his friend next door that in recent years had trouble dealing with Alex’s anger problems and his propensity for hitting when he got frustrated. Of course we still see outbursts, but they are fewer and he gets over them more quickly. He also seems happier in general. Thanks

  • Jack is a second grader diagnosed with ADD.  He also exhibits slow processing speeds, trouble reading and low self confidence.

                      After 30 sessions of Hemispheric Integration Therapy, his mother writes;

                      Jacks' confidence level has increased amazingly along with his self esteem.  He

                      approaches his work with an attitude of " I can do this, on my own".  Previously

                      he dreaded his work and fought mightily to avoid having to do it.  He also complained

                      that the noise and activity level in the room was a distraction and prevented him from

                      thinking.  He also relied on a parent to be with him while he worked in order to keep

                      him on task.  Now he works independently in the kitchen with the same noise and

                      activity level as before and is able to concentrate, stay focused and complete his work.

  • Helene is a 9th grader diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder;

Before undergoing Hemispheric Integration Therapy her reading fluency was
9th grade equivalent and her math fluency level was grade equivalent of 6 1/2. She exhibited marked impulsivity.

After 30 sessions of Hemispheric Integration Therapy Helene states;

“It’s easier to focus in class. It’s easier for words to stick in my head. I don’t get as tired during the day and I’m not as stressed out in school.”

Helene’s reading fluency improved 5 ½ grade levels and her math fluency improved 4 grade levels. She exhibited significant improvement in sustaining attention and decreased impulsivity.

  • NM is a 14 year old boy with ADD and oppositional defiant disorder. Before undergoing Hemispheric Integration Therapy (HIT) his mother states; “N is unmotivated and is unable to work with his support team. He has trouble focusing and spaces out during class.

After 30 sessions of HIT his mother writes; overall his volume has been turned down, he is less intense and calmer with his siblings. He is processing information more efficiently. He transitions easier. His teachers state; He is more motivated and focused in class, participates more and his writing is clearer.

  • "Ethan made Honor roll for the first time.  He got straight A's.  His attention has improved, he's more motivated, and he actually wants to do his homework. "  SS (mother of 11 YO boy with ADHD and NLD)

  • “My son, age 8, had the opportunity to complete the Hemispheric Integration Therapy program with Dr. Goldenberg. He has benefited in several ways. He is more fluid in his speech and more conversational. He is more aware of his body; he is now learning soccer and sports. He carries his body better and ended up stronger and more confident. I feel this was the single most important program that I have given my son. It was hard work and he felt very proud that he could and did complete it.”

  • Transitions are much easier at home and I am often surprised how willing he is to cooperate. He is getting into organizing and cleaning up his belongings. When he does get angry, he gets over it much faster. He tells me more jokes around the house. There has been improvement in attention during homework and he has lots of self confidence.

  • My son has shown a large improvement socially.  He now makes more eye contact when someone is speaking to him, takes in what they are saying and responds appropriately.  He shows more empathy for others.  His teachers have noticed a marked improvement in his attention and focus in the classroom and we have seen the same at home.  DT

  • My son is more cheerful and more positive emotionally.  His teacher says that he participates more in class, follows directions and instructions much better.  LL

  • " I feel like I can actually pay attention.  I feel the same way that I did while I was taking medication but naturally.  I also received the most improved player award in baseball".   MB (12 YO boy with ADD).

  • Teacher noticed more focused work and improved use of speech and vocabulary.
    FV

  • His mood has improved; not as combative. More easily participates in conversations and transitions into new events better. Improved at soccer. PS; Yesterday, he said he caught a lot of balls while playing dodge ball. He also asked if he could join in with a certain group of friends at camp, they said yes and his nickname is Philly cheese Steak. He felt great about that. (don’t tell him I told you all this)”
    MG (mother of 11 y/o boy with AS syndrome)

  • “I’m more patient with friends. I used to feel that I had to get the last word in. Now it’s easier to disengage.” AV (17yo girl with Asperger Syndrome.)

  • She’s much calmer and can control herself better.
    AH (Grandmother of child with Asperger Syndrome)

    AV (17 y/o girl with Asperger Syndrome

  • Her ability to stay on task has improved dramatically, her frustration level has decreased.  When she does homework she has less frustration and has an increased ability to stay with it until it is complete.  Her teacher said that she does not have to put her in the front of the class anymore and that her reading speed has improved.  SV (mother of 6YO girl with ADD)
